I met Jakob Valdez in one of my classes at UTA. He told our class his story of becoming a music education major at UTA, and I was struck by his obvious passion for music. I loved looking at the preparation process for UTA's A Cappella choir as part of this story. I attended a rehearsal and a performance to get my additional sounds.
The choir's next performance will be at a church in Arlington. Find out more about the event here.
One of the challenges I ran into was recording in the Fine Arts Building at UTA. The rooms, including professors' offices, are not always soundproof. I heard opera music coming through the walls during one interview. It spelled a good future story idea about the nature of UTA's fine arts building, especially compared to that of other music facilities at the collegiate level. What are your thoughts on collegiate support of music facilities?
